Thank you all so much for your comments. It's so lovely to put things out into the wild world and have them echo back at you through the lens of other minds and experiences. Lots more coming. Love!

Jet Black Crow is my wife and my wedding song. We got married in November of 2013 and it had come along just in time. It's pretty fun to have a song that we can play any time and enjoy it.

Loved how you mentioned that creativity is something to continually balance on, emphasizing that it’s an ever-changing process and there’s no finish line! Beautifully written

Sons of the Sea is one of my favorite pieces of your work. I could play the song Avalanche on repeat for days while I paint, read, work ect.. It seems to keep my mind focused because most of the time I'm trying to figure out what to make next while trying to complete what I already started.

Thanks for this!

Hey Brandon,

I would time travel with you any day. Thanks for yet another inspiring piece and reminding us to keep going even if we think we have arrived!

Sons of the Sea is a masterpiece. I have been listening to Incubus since I was around 20 years old. I remember hearing Make Yourself for the first time. Your music defined my young adulthood and I absolutely love the new stuff which I didnt know existed. Twenty two years later and ya still got it Brandon. I just read your substack backwards so yeaaaa doubt you will ever see this but thanks for bein you ( oh and i caught my daughter watching incubus videos, so you have the next generation too :)

Do you think he noticed that writing is another enchanting branch on his Oak Tree?

Love this. <3 So eloquent, so entrancing, so inspirational. Thank you so much for sharing these insights, Brandon. It means more than you can imagine. (Oh wait...there is no end in creativity and therefore imagination.)

woao... I really felt abstracted in reading this post and its meaning at times I felt sadness because I identified with that feeling of what would happen if I achieve that dream, then I will lay it down and not look for more... more at the end of the Reading fills me with satisfaction and hope... creativity never dies... and I really want it that way... Keep painting, advancing, learning, experimenting, creating, chasing that dream, I just hope I can give that carrot a taste but not eat it right away. everything so that you continue to have the reason to keep running. Thank you Brandon for so much and even more that I know you have to give! your words are food for the soul.
