👌 Part of being an Incubus fan has been growing with you guys as your sounds change and evolve. I love that risk that's taken every time an album comes out and we fall in love all over again. Sometimes it's instant, sometimes it takes a little time. Some of the songs on this album are my absolute favorite from the solo works. Whether it is Incubus or solo projects you can always tell that you put you entire heart and soul into what you create, and for that alone you will always have adoration from your fans. Congratulations on the release, I can't wait till I have more time with it... trying to fit into my mommy schedule. 😄
Congratulations on the new album, Brandon! I know it has to be nerve-racking to put so much thought and love into something and then release it to the world and the expectations/judgement that comes with that. I've always appreciated the fact that you push yourself with every project you are involved in. So many artists stick to the formula that their fans/listeners love and I'm sure that's a tempting path. "If it ain't broke..." and all that. That works for some, but I find it far more rewarding when artists show me different sides of themselves, sides I never expected, and being blown away by it. This album did that for me. Thank you! I wish you all the success in the world with this project and hope, years from now, you look back on it with pride. It's phenomenal.
Wow well said. I like how you broke down your appreciation for the work that went into the album. I too am appreciative of artists who whole-souledly dedicate themselves to their work!
Well I just bought your art "tiny dancer iii" and ordered your new album on vinyl and purchased the songs through amazon so I can listen through my amazon music app, so I think it's safe to say at least some people appreciate your art. I was particularly drawn (unintended pun, but now I think it's funny) to the video for "More Better" and the lyrics in that song really hit me personally. I know one thing, after this pandemic now I have an urge to go to as many concerts as I can and just travel and sightsee in general to make up for lost time. I'll be at the Incubus show on March 18th!
I've always admired the courage of artists, the ability to put your most personal and sacred thoughts, feelings, creation, whatever it may be into the world for public consumption. The very idea gives me hives 😂 And I am so grateful you have this courage because this album is -lovely-. It is beautiful and hauntingly relevant to so much that has been happening in my brain for the last two years. Thank you for trusting me with it. Love.
One of my favorite things about listening to your music, not just your solo work, but with Incubus as well, is that it has been a reflection of the growth and change you've experienced throughout your life and career. Each album, each sound is different from the previous work, and that's what makes them all beautiful and unique.
Fuck "mass appeal". Keep doing what makes your heart smile and your soul soar.
I wish so badly I could be there for your March 18th show but circumstances right now are not in my favor. No matter what people think of your latest work, it is still hard work put in by you and something to be proud of. Me, personally, I love it, as well as having a soft spot for your earlier work in Incubus. Make Yourself is timeless and you still have the ability to capture moments perfectly within your lyrics.
I just listened to the new album in my car (the sound system is more better…) on a solo road trip through the Ouachita mountains. Front to back. I absolutely adore how thoughtfully unique it is—I think that speaks to your growth and development as an artist to experiment with new sounds and themes while staying authentic to yourself.
Many of the lyrics gave me full body chills. I especially adore the Scott Walker-esque vibes in “End of the World”.
I can’t wait to give it more listens—in a similar way as some of my favorite films (David Lynch most notably) I think your work really rewards multiple visits and interpretations.
Thank you for the new music, I’ll see you on the 22nd in OKC!
Brandon: Wow I just wrote the longest message and when I signed in (in order to post) it disappeared! Sadness.... well... here's the last line...
PLEASE never stop being your deep and introspective and creative and equanimous self as it makes my life more better.
Love the album and can't wait for a meet and greet sans pandemic precautions (as we had in Des Moines last fall). Grateful for artists such as yourself who used the unrequested isolation and uncertainty to gift the world with the silver lining of amazing art. Katie G
Listen, its giving me Kill Bill Pink Floyd Twin Peaks .. Massive attack .. Labyrinth .. zooming in on David Bowie's ... Mushroom .forages and trips through the forests .. late night full moon swims .. love making love wanting love aching love rewinding ... loose lips sink ships.. but we all float down here .. End of the world or nah... Do you BBoy . its so appreciated <3 salud!
OMG you are the poster boy for growth. Always a pleasure to see the leaps you take. Have loved Incubus ability of metamorphosis. And my littles love the other world feel plus the animations. Also love Sarah’s flow so much perfect combination kudos to your lates offering 🙏🏽🧜🏼♀️❤️
Awesome work, Brandon! A friend once told me that we should be doing more of what scares us. I’m still not cool with skydiving but sharing vulnerable pieces of ourselves through art seems to be the only way to creating something authentic.. and I think people can feel that regardless of how skilled they are on an instrument or with a paint brush.
You’re an inspiration - I still listen to the Wild Trapeze all the time too. Thank you for sharing more music!
Petrichor has been on a loop in my brain the last few weeks... your voice brings me peace. Im pretty sure if you made an album of teeth whistling and howling at the moon it would be a hit so dont ever stop!
This reminds me of a comment you once made about relationships and expectations... when someone loves that "one thing" about you...so always be that "ONE THING". It's not possible! What a suffocating thought. Ya gotta float around that big ocean and spread those tentacles. How lucky are we that you've done that time and again! Keep on keepin' on!
You will find your way, Brandon, as always. .been listening to xou since the morning view and you have always found your voice. .thank you for being there...

I'm pretty sure my exact words to the kids in the car yesterday were "Can you two just shhh! Zip it!" 😂😂

You picked up on at least six of my direct references here, Ali. Good ear ya got on ya there.

To be Your Fan is to be inside in a open world of love envolved in magic with the realism of life, Bran.❤️ Thank you.
I think this is your best work to date as a solo artist. I absolutely love the unique sound. There is a distinct Bowie feeling for me.
